A while ago, FIFA commissioned a study into injury prevention. The 11+ is what they came up with.

Studies have shown that compliance with this program can significantly reduce injuries, especially serious ones. Serious injury is rare in soccer, but even minor injuries are no fun.
I suspect that the injury prevention rates suffer from a selection bias because clubs that prioritise injury prevention are probably doing lots of other things right too, like ensuring decent training facilities. Nevertheless, a 29% reduction in match injuries is not to be sneezed at.
We’ll be building up to the full 11+ over the next few weeks.
The nerdier among you will want to check out the full manual here.
